 Works decently, but doesn't like to scroll down February 19, 2010

I had to replace my trackball after dropping my blackberry for the umpteenth time, and decided on going with this for a replacement. It arrived quickly and worked fine for a few months, but after normal use (but not dropping it again), it has gotten very fickle about scrolling down (left, right and up are fine).
It is much better than no trackball at all, but I wish it performed as well as the original trackball.

The item was cheap, which is why there is no reason for return, but the product does not work correctly.
The old original ball that came with my blackberry curve works better than this one, the ball moves freely, but does not have a good connection with the phone.

Purchased this item as a replacement for the stock track ball for my blackberry. Installed easily, but the trackball doesn't work very well. You can scroll the ball and it doesn't register with the phone. Crappy product, and a complete waste of money.

This Trackball replacement worked perfectly in my BlackBerry 8330 Curve. I had lost the ability to scroll left and right so attempted to take apart the trackball to clean it, with marginal results that resulted in intermittent functionality. After some quick checking, this replacement trackball looked like my best option since my "self help" fix attempt failed, and it definitely was.
Pros:

+ Easy To Install
+ Nice Color (mine is green)
Cons:
- No Instructions Included (easy enough to figure out though)
Misc:
* A nice carry pouch was included with my order
This replacement trackball restored my BlackBerry to full functionality and likely saved me the trouble of replacing the whole unit or having to take it to a Sprint store for service.

I have an 8820 and needed a replacement trackball. It wasn't imperative but mine got dirty..I ordered the blue one and was really excited to use it. It's complete crap. I don't know if it's sensitivity or whatever.. but the stupid things doesn't scroll down properly.. and when you try to roll it more.. it stops! I thought it was my specific phone so I used it on an 8800 and a 8310.. guess what? the same thing happened. It's absolutely NOT worth shipping back to waste additional money on the stupid thing. The idea of a blue trackball was nice but it's worthless. I have now gone back to my old, dirty white ball as it is WAY more effective than the blue one.
Seriously, don't waste the money.
